Since it worked, I didn't try using the DA tool. I already converted the Marry V4 character's morphs I bought from you to G2F and G3F using GenX.

Then you can apply some Iray shader presets to the new G3F and see the magic. Once you do it a few times, you get used to it and the process gets easier. Its still much faster than doing this manually, and its the only automated method I am aware of for converting Daz textures. So those have to be swapped out and the conversion ran a few times to convert them all. That's because BS3D only converts the maps in the diffuse color spots. I converted the base colors first, then I place my bump maps on the color map spots and converted those, and finally the SSS maps in the color map spots and converted those. I've converted textures from different generations and they work flawlessly. You can see examples on DA.īlacksmith3D is very awkward to use, and it is annoying, but it really works. The resulting shape morphs might need some tweaks depending on how extreme the original was, but they should be very close. The DA tool doesn't care about where your files are, it takes the shape you have dialed in and exports it as an obj file to its app, and then the app does its little magic before importing a new G3F back into Daz. I don't know, it just doesn't work right for me half the time. With GenX, I have had various errors and things because apparently I have some duplicate files or something. GenX at Daz3d has more flexibility, but the DA version does not depend on file locations like GenX does. But it is pretty fast and the instructions are easy to follow. You can convert V4 or G2F to G3F, and that is all. And again, it only works for females, and only from older to newer generations. Well, the Deviantart tool is about $25, here it is.ĭ/art/Legacy-to-.uy-it-here-589021408įollow the steps as outlined and it should work. mainly cause you can easiler do something that can not be reverted. As result skining from enjoyble staff becomes NOT fun at all. just weight skinning(yes they have Metrices, but they does not work together).

yes you loose weight skin but Metrices will be. you can easilier transnfer skin between characters. it have poser Metrices with 2 spheres and weight skinning. i do not understand why they did it like in Max for example. Main problem that Daz Skinning is really bad. really appreaciated if you sent me a link to DeviantArt tool for V4 to G3Fīlacksmith3D we have. Marie Rose clothes have G3F morphs.Īs about v4. So even powerArmor for V4 exists in version for G2. 6 years 2 weeks ago #1739įor cloth is no problem cause we from some time ago start adding to all of them G2 as morph and now is G3)) With these tools, you never have to worry about "This character isn't the generation of figure I use!" ever again. It also can work backwards, so you can transfer G3 characters to V4! It works pretty well and can create near perfect G3F versions of your textures, and do so pretty quickly.

It takes just a few minutes to do all of this and you will have a perfect clone of your original shape without needing to do a ton of work.īlacksmith3D has a texture transfer tool, plus that same tool can also be purchased by itself much cheaper. Once done and you have your finished morph, go into the joint editor in Daz and pick the option to "adjust figure to shape." This will make the bones fit the shape better in case the transfer caused them to move around. Then I'd use whatever 3d program you use to fine tune that shape as it may not be 100% accurate but it should be real close. I hate trying to convert high heel shoes! It can be done, but it is painful.Īt any rate, this is what I would do: I would use GenX to transfer the V4 morph to G3F. Most clothes are not too bad, until you get to shoes.

There are ways to convert clothes, with tutorials on Daz3d's forums and Deviant Art among other places. Sometimes the autofit and transfer utility works great, and sometimes it works poorly.

There are more manual methods in tutorials on Daz's forums.Ĭonverting clothing to G3 is a bit more involved. So converting models from V4 to current G3F is pretty painless in general with these tools. There's also a user on Deviant Art selling a small app that will convert V4 and G2F to G3F (and only female, males are not covered.) And Renderosity sells a texture converter that can convert textures from V4/G2F to G3F, or any number of models with the right add-ons. GenX works pretty well for morphs with the right expansions. There are multiple ways to convert morphs and skin textures from one generation to the next.
